Liz
Wainger is founder of Liz Wainger Communications, L.L.C.,
an independent, strategic communications consulting firm that
helps position and brand public, private and not-for-profit
companies and organizations. Liz Wainger Communications, LLC
works with clients to use the power of communications to build
strong companies and organizations. We work with each client
to develop and execute strategies to fit its unique situation.
Our services include: media relations, message development,
web strategy, marketing communications, community relations,
and crisis communications. Wainger brings more than 20 years
of experience in public relations, marketing communications
and journalism. Clients include the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association,
Morino Institute, St. Albans School of Public Service, National
Geographic Educational Foundation and Insignia/ESG. Prior
to founding her firm, in June of 2000, Wainger was Director
of Communications for the Morino Institute/Morino Group in
Reston, VA where she was responsible for positioning and branding
a variety of entrepreneurial ventures including the opening
of an office building housing some of the hottest Internet
and private equity firms in the Dulles Corridor and the roll-out
of Venture Philanthropy Partners. Wainger has also held senior
communications positions at The National Trust for Historic
Preservation and the American Institute of Architects, where
she directed national media and advertising campaigns. She
was a reporter at The Washington Post on the Metro and Style
desks. Early in her career she was a social work assistant
on the neurosurgical and orthopedic services at Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston. Wainger graduated Phi Beta Kappa
from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and
spent a semester at Leningrad State University, now St. Petersburg
University, in Russia.
