Georgia Sullivan has accepted the position of Director of Development for the St. Albans School of Public Service (SPS).

As SPS Director of Development, Georgia will focus on fundraising during an especially important period in the life of the SPS. The program enters its third full year of operation this summer. This position is funded entirely through the School of Public Service budget.

Working closely with Vance Wilson, Mary Anne Waikart, and members of the SPS faculty, Georgia will develop and manage all fundraising and related activities for the School. She will closely coordinate her work with Beth Brummel and the STA Development/External Programs team to build a com
prehensive philanthropy program for the SPS. Georgia also will provide staff support to the SPS Advisory Board.

Many of us know Georgia through her work at NCS, where she has served in the School’s Office of Advancement for the past four years, first as Director of Major Gifts and most recently as Director of Development. In addition to her knowledge of the Close community, Georgia brings to this work fifteen years of professional experience in fundraising, communications, and community service. Prior to her positions at NCS, Georgia served in development positions at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and at the Woodrow Wilson International Center of Scholars. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Major Gifts at the Emma Willard School and in fundraising positions at the Parsons Child and Family Center and the Albany Institute of History and Art in Albany, New York.

Georgia is a graduate of Union College and has completed partial studies at Johns Hopkins University toward a Master’s Degree with a concentration in media, history, and politics. She also has studied Polish language, economics, and culture at the Kosciuszko Foundation, Jagellonian University in Krakow, Poland.

Georgia lives in Washington, D.C., where she is an active volunteer for political and community organizations.
